Irlantilaista kulttuuria esittelevä festivaali on järjestetty vuosittain Suomessa jo vuodesta 1986. Alkuvaiheessa konsertteja nähtiin vain Helsingissä, mutta myöhemmin irlantilaisesta kulttuurista on saatu nauttia valtakunnallisesti.

Festivaalilla on keskitytty musiikkiin, mutta ohjelmistossa on ollut myös runoutta, teatteria ja taidenäyttelyitä. Mukana on ollut irlantilaisen musiikin kuumia nimiä, mutta myös tuntemattomia bändejä ja taiteilijoita.

29. festivaali järjestetään 27.9. – 5.10. noin 10 paikkakunnalla Suomessa. Virallisen ohjelmiston lisäksi on luvassa vapaamuotoisia jamisessioita.

A festival of Irish Culture has been arranged by Finnish-Irish Socity annually since 1986. The festival has been mainly a music festival, but it has also featured poetry, theatre and exhibitions in its  program.

The festival has brought some of the most famous names in Irish music and Culture to Finland, but it has also had new groups and artists in its program.

The festival started as a very small Helsinki-based event, but it has now
become one of the largest of its kind in continental Europe.

The 29th Irish Festival in Finland will be arranged 27th  September – 5th  October, 2014.  The festival will take place in  ca. 10 towns and cities.
The festival will also feature Finnish musicians and bands playing Irish music. There  will also be sessions, where Irish and Finnish musicians can play together.
